The Network Care of ESN Italy, which is the committee in charge of overseeing the proper functioning of the network, among its various initiatives promotes a showcase during the National Platform where local sections are awarded prizes. These awards are given on the basis of the individual sections' ability to create events in response to ESN's main causes and to the different themes chosen for every showcase.
ESN Bari was crowned the winner in the field of inclusive events. The main reason for this victory was the International Dinner held on 23 March, the first day of Ramadan. Through this event, the volunteer members succeeded in creating a moment of reunion so that, despite the distance from their homes and families, all Muslims on Erasmus in Bari could enjoy a moment of sharing their common roots. Even those who professed other religions took part in the ritual, bringing and sharing typical dishes from their own land, in the full spirit of interculturality. In fact, ESN's interest is never solely aimed at promoting local identity but also and above all at embracing those customs that are culturally distant from one's own.
